Advocacy – Action

Heritage places offer great opportunities as building blocks for regional development, cultural/tourism activity, social infrastructure and the creation of green jobs.  They are cornerstones of our national identity.

Yet they are under threat – lost due to neglect, lack of funding, development pressures, inappropriate alterations and weak legislation.

The National Trust works with governments for public policies that remove barriers to heritage investment and help preserve the historic fabric of our diverse communities.

Learn more about how changes to the system could put historic places on a level playing field.  Explore our key public policy objectives, and some of the places at risk.
