Oct 14, 2017 – Thorold wins Prince of Wales prize for heritage
From industrial to cultural, Thorold’s landscape has evolved to such an extent that even Prince Charles is taking notice.
“We have had a banner year when it comes to heritage preservation,” said Pamela Minns, secretary–treasurer of Heritage Thorold Local Architectural Conservation Advisory Committee (LACAC).
A long-time LACAC activist, Minns has been instrumental in getting several of the city’s properties designated as heritage sites, and was recently notified, along with Mayor Ted Luciani, that Thorold won the Prince of Wales Prize for Municipal Heritage Leadership.
