Presented to the Indigenous Heritage Circle and contributors Karen Aird, Catherine Bell, Julie Harris, Catherine Cole and Cody Groat for their comprehensive report: Indigenous Heritage and the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples. This May 2022 report – with an Executive Summary available in English, French, Cree, Inuktuit and Mikmaq – is an important guidepost for Canada’s implementation of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP), exploring how it should inform heritage practices, policies, and legislation to better support Indigenous heritage.
