2022 Governors' Awards

Muscowekwan First Nation and their vision for Muscowequan Residential School. This award recognizes the community led effort behind designation of the last standing Saskatchewan residential school building as a National Historic Site, ongoing efforts toward its rehabilitation as a site of conscience, and creative partnerships such as with Carleton University’s Azrieli School of Architecture & Urbanism, which has engaged students in researching the history of the school, compiling archival images and drawings, and building detailed models of the school building for educational and teaching purposes.
