The Ontario Heritage Trust for naming the Josiah Henson Museum of African-Canadian History.
In July 30th 2022, as part of the Trust’s commitment to review all its properties and programs through an inclusive and anti-racist lens, Uncle Tom’s Cabin Historic Site became the Josiah Henson Museum of African-Canadian History – an example of restorative justice in action to remove hurtful connotations and give greater recognition to an important figure of the abolition movement in the U.S. and Canada.
