City of Toronto Museums, for Awakenings

Launched in December 2020 at City of Toronto heritage sites and museums, Awakenings is a virtual series of art projects by artists from the Black, Indigenous and people of colour communities operating under the principles of anti-oppression, anti-colonialism and anti-racism.

Awakenings brings contemporary art into historic places to tell previously invisible stories, inviting visitors to hear new perspectives and interpretations of beloved sites.
