O’Dell House Museum

The O’Dell House Museum is the former home of Nova Scotia Pony Express rider Corey O’Dell and his family.

For nine months in the 19th century Halifax was home to a Pony Express right here in Canada – racing to bring European news to a conglomerate of newspapers in New York and Boston before steamships. Though the initiative was short-lived, the home of former rider remains as a testament to the Halifax Pony Express and local history in Annapolis Royal.

Located on the Annapolis Royal waterfront, the museum also houses the Annapolis Heritage Society’s Genealogy Centre and its Archived and Collections Centre.
